Modify Aircraft
This function may be accessed only through Auxiliaries/Aircraft. It mirrors
the most vital functions of the Aircraft Database screen in all BART-4-Windows
modules as described below:
Field Explanations
Registration: This is the standard identifier for the aircraft used by every BART module.
This must be entered as part of setup. It is usually, but not necessarily, the
tail number of the aircraft.
Description: This is the model name of the aircraft. This provides a ready reference for
the user to choose the correct aircraft if the tail number is not sufficient.
This must be entered on setup but may be changed without difficulty.
(15 Chars) (Required)
Homebase: This is the airport identifier for the normal home base of the aircraft.
Identifiers may be found in the Airport Database. This must be entered at setup, but
may be changed without difficulty.
(4 Chars) (Required)
BART Code: This code enables your BART system to accurately calculate enroute times.
This is maintained by an internal Aircraft Types database.
(8 Chars) (Required)
Model:
Num Seats: This is the number of passengers your aircraft will accommodate. If nothing is
entered here, BART-4-Web will not allow passengers to be added to a trip. This
function defines how many slots are available for passengers on a given
flight. BART Recordkeeping uses this number for Load Factor calculations in the
Operations Report.
(2 Num) (Required)
Charge Method: Select from Flight Hour, Block Hour, Nautical, or Statute.
Rate: This is the amount of money to be charged per unit of distance or time.
($$$.cc per distance or $$$$$ per hour). This is required to use Trip Planner to
calculate charges, and in Recordkeeping only if you do charge-backs.
Max Takeoff Weight: This is the maximum weight in pounds of the aircraft at takeoff. This number
is used for SIFL calculations and must be entered before any SIFL flights can be
properly calculated.
(6 Num) (Rec) (Flt-Anl) (Quo)
Endurance with Zero Pax: This is the maximum safe flight time for the aircraft with no passengers. The
program will take the difference between this field and Endurance at Max Pax
and divide by the number of passengers actually scheduled to get the endurance
for a specific flight. This allows the program to alert the user in the event
that an entered leg is too long for the aircraft.
(4 Num) (hh:mm) (Sch)
Endurance with Max Pax: This is the maximum safe flight time for the aircraft with the maximum number
of passengers. The program will take the difference between this field and
Endurance at 0 Pax and divide by the number of passengers actually scheduled to get
the endurance for a specific flight. This is used only by Scheduling to alert
the user in the event that an entered leg is too long for the aircraft.
(4 Num) (hh:mm) (Sch)
Use Hobbs Meter: Checking this box will cause the system to prompt the user for beginning and
ending Hobbs time in the Operational Data screen of the flight log. Leaving it
blank allows the user to enter "time off" and "time on" in the operational
screen.
(1 Char) (Rec)
Is Fuel in Gallons: Select your unit of measurement for fuel here. Uncheck this box to measure it
in pounds.
Minimum Runway: Enter the minimum length (in feet) of runway that your aircraft requires for
take-offs and landings.
